Unix Software: Network: Elm
Description
Elm is a primitive email program, just slightly more sophisticated
than mail. Using something like pine
or a GUI mail application such as Netscape Messenger is
recommended for everyday email, however, the elm package does
contain a number of command-line programs which may be useful,
particularly in writing scripts to automate email related tasks.

Commands
elm - start the
interactive Elm program, or using command line options, sent
messages or files to specific addresses.
answer - phone
message transcription system.
checkalias -
check to see if an alias is defined.
elmalias -
expand and display Elm address aliases.
fastmail - a
low-level interface to the mail system, useful for batch
processing of emails.
frm - display
from lines and subject headers of email in selected mailboxes.
listalias -
list all user and system aliases.
messages -
display number of messages in a mailbox.
mmencode -
perform translation from various file formats to the ASCII MIME
equivalent encoding. Intended to supercede uuencode.
newalias -
create new aliases for users and/or system.
newmail -
notify user when new mail is recieved.
printmail -
format mail for printing with lpr.
readmsg -
extract specific mail messages from a mailbox.
